Everyone uses the term ‘third world’. You don’t really hear anything of the ‘first world’. Maybe they feel it’s a bit presumptuous or something.
If there’s a first and third world, then what happened to second?
It all seems like train tickets.

I never thought about where and what the Second World might be. Very funny question.
But I think it’s important somehow or maybe I just have a slightly idiosyncratic viewpoint! ;)
First class, business class, economy class. Yeah. But how weird it would sound to say “the coach world”.
Hehe, that is an American expression that I hadn’t considered. To travel (by) coach is to go by intercity bus in this country. Coach World sounds like a very specialist magazine, for people with horses too I’m sure. :)
I never understood why we call it the third world… I wonder from where this terminology come from?
I’m not sure, I haven’t researched the history but it does smack of élitism, I’m sure. Thanks for visiting. ;)
