I want to keep you safe, wrap you like a precious treasure
I want to be your bubble wrap
If only I could cushion you from the knocks and jars
If only I could protect you from the world within and without
I want to be your bubble wrap
Yet should I label you ‘handle with care’ or even ‘fragile’?
And is it really my place to tell you which way is up?
I want to be your bubble wrap
But at what price my love, what price?
With a daughter thousands of miles away in Iceland, IE, this is a very pertinent poem indeed. Thanks :-)
I’m always amazed that my words can touch someone and I’m very envious of your daughter, Iceland, wow! Thank you. :)
